Why did you set up your company in Åmål?
My husband an I already lived in Åmål. I was already working for the company when my boss, the owner, decided to retire an asked me if I was interested in buying it. After considering the offer for a very short time, I accepted. I had always been an employee and wanted to take the chance to try something new. It’s fun to have your own business. It’s a lot more flexible.

How do you find the business climate in Åmål?

The company is keeping me so busy I don’t have time to go to the meetings or seminars that are being offered. But I think Åmål is a good place to have a company. The residents of Åmål have given me a warm welcome.

What advice do you have for those who want to do business here or are thinking about setting up a company here?
There’s a lot of paperwork. It’s important to have a good accountant, then you feel more secure. He or she knows what to do and makes sure that your papers and taxes are done on time. I think that everyone in the service industry has to be especially responsive to what the customer wants. It’s important to be on time and also to have competitive prices.
