International Work and Contacts
Even though Åmål is a small town it has an impressive international profile. Ethnic diversity, international companies, tourism and community involvement in international projects reflect an open-minded community.
Currently we are involved in projects with Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece, Poland, Scotland, Italy, Uganda and also our neighbour Norway.
Some projects focus on involving young people in international exchange programs, for example, the EU volunteer exchange program where young people do volunteer work in different countries. In return, Åmål has young volunteers from different countries working here.

A Europe Direct Office provides information and assistance for anyone interested in learning more about working in the EU. The office also runs the EU volunteer program.
