Why did you move to Åmål?
We came here from Chile as political refugees. When we were deciding where to live, someone told us about Åmål and it sounded like a good place. Åmål had just decided to take in refugees

What do you like about Åmål?
Åmål is a really pretty and nice town. I feel at home here. The location on Lake Vänern only makes it better. I love living close to water. And Åmål is also centrally located. It’s not far to Karlstad or Gothenburg. And there’s a lot happening all the time. I think it’s good for children to grow up in a small town, where they are more protected. Åmål is a great town for families.

What is your favorite place in town?
I love the forest. If I’m tired, I take a long walk in the woods and then I feel much better. And there’s a lot of woods here!

What tips do you have for others who move to Åmål?
Get involved in a club. That’s where you meet people and build up a network. It’s great when you have kids, because there are so many different sport clubs for them, for example, football.
