Loimaa has a population of 13 100 citizens.
The city has an area of 480, km² and is located in southwest Finland about 60 km from Åbo (Turku). It’s beautiful setting in the Finnish countryside attracts tourists for canoeing and hiking.
Åmål and Loimaa became twin towns in the middle of the 1940s.
