Municipal Adult Education and Swedish for Immigrants
Municipal adult education (Vuxenutbildningen) provides basic education (1-9), upper secondary education, continuing education programs and Swedish for immigrants (SFI). Instruction is flexible and individualized to meet the needs of the adult students.
Distance courses are offered and there are also university courses with lectures given through the teleconferencing facilities at Vuxenutbildningen in Åmål.

Adult Continuing Education
Every year there are more than 300 000 adult education courses offered and about1.5 million Swedes who take an evening course. Several organizations offer courses in a wide range of topics, for example, languages, cooking, music and crafts. There is usually a small charge for each course. Below are the local organizations.

Uppdragsutbildningen in Säffle
Uppdragsutbildning in Säffle provides tailor-made training and development for business and industry. They coordinate courses for business, industry and local government in Western Värmland/Dalsland and provide training in the areas of industrial technology (welding, metal cutting and shaping), and transportation technology (trucks, busses and forklifts).
In addition to education and training, Uppdragsutbildning maintains networks for companies in different branches, e.g., human resources, IT, production, technical development, purchasing and shipping. Uppdragsutbildnng also cooperates with universities in Trollhättan and Karlstad.
